2008 Re-capped

2008 closed with me eating a Boston Creme Donut and burning phool jarri’s,
and 2009 opened with halwa puri nashta at boat basin- and oh did I mention the family sleepover in between those 12 hours!!

2008 was eventful – very eventful.

  • January – Rukki apa passed away
Someone said – Two religions don’t work
I agree- so I’m sticking to mine!
  • February- Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
  • March- Petty politics indeed.
Men hit number one on my hate list.
  • April- The Elimination Round
All “good” things came to an end.
Including working at the most amazing office, Creative Chaos
  • May- Masters in English Lit commenced.
Met the most profound professor in the world.
Ahmed Mehroz (May his soul rest in peace) passed away.
  • June- Turned 24! Older and Wiser- but never happier :)
    Took up the guitar :)
Started healing and helping friends heal.
  • September- Got a 3.5 GPA! WOO HOO!
On a sadder note – Dr. Rafat Karim passed away…
An irreplaceable loss. An inconsolable loss.
Started working on the editorial board of a media house.
Joined the cast for a play called The Rope.
  • November- Performed in The Rope
  • December – Adnan, khadijeh and Nadia got married – love you :)
Got to visit Hyderabad after 12 years – What an experience
    The Blogger meet up happened.
    Interviewed…THE MEERA!
    Abbas (Vidpk) came to town
Ego had a concert :) Zeb and Haniya and ADP

And so, here I am, welcoming the new year. Welcoming change. Resolving to better myself, be even happier than I already am (Inshallah). The resolution for the year is to lose all the excess weight, and do things that will change the world – focus on writing, and character building exercises that will help me evolve.
